We work with clients in industrial, agricultural and professional contexts throughout North America. We believe that being proactive with workplace safety and health is the best strategy to protect a business from liability and workers from harm. We advise clients on regulatory requirements and the value of recognition programs, such as OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP). Our team has helped clients achieve VPP certification in states around the country and defended clients in efforts to revoke VPP status. Emergency response is a major component of our practice. We understand that workplace and industrial accidents and catastrophes happen unexpectedly. Our team is on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to respond when an accident occurs. Some accidents are straightforward; others are complicated, with multiple employers involved and multiple government agencies conducting simultaneous investigations. We can assist, either on-site or from a distance, in guiding clients through items, such as: · Emergency response · Regulatory reporting · Management of government inspections · Evidence and document preservation · Witness preparation · Risk mitigation Litigation often results over workplace safety and health issues. We defend clients at the administrative, trial and appellate levels. We also advise clients on the effect a business transaction, such as a merger or sale of businesses, has on that client’s workplace safety and health liability.
